“Tell all” internship panel event: Tues 4/29, 8:30 pm, Student Center Greenhouse

Spring Career and Internship Fair: Wed, 4/2, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm, Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex

The Spring Career and Internship Fair is coming up! There will be 90+ tables with employers who want to hire Hofstra students from all majors. The employers in attendance will represent a wide variety of industries and functional areas to appeal to students from all majors interested in full-time, part-time and internship opportunities. This year, the Fair will also feature a section dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Students are encouraged to dress professionally and bring résumés, and they can research the attending companies by logging into Pride-CMS through my.hofstra.edu. All current Hofstra students and alumni and encouraged to attend and must present a valid HofstraCard for entry.

Community-based Internships and Volunteering Opportunities – Tues 2/11

Hofstra’s Center for Civic Engagement is hosting a Speed Dating Style Recruitment Event TONIGHT from 6pm to 8pm in the Hofstra Student Center’s Multipurpose Room West. Representatives from several non-profit organizations will be on hand to discuss opportunities available for students to make a difference in their community. Food will also be served. Students can either volunteer or participate in academic internships that count towards general liberal arts elective credit and/or a civic engagement minor.

Criminology internship panel – 10/23 Breslin 111 during common hour

There will be a criminology internship panel tomorrow (October 23) in Breslin 111 during common hour. It’s an opportunity for students to learn about some of the available internships and to hear from students who engaged in these internships in the past.

 

Paid internship opportunities for Fall 2012

Opportunities for paid internships through Doctors without Borders in a number of fields, including Public Relations and Human Resources. In addition to gaining experience within their chosen field, all interns will also gain a basic introduction to the field of international medical humanitarian aid and advocacy. All internships will take place in New York and will be paid at the rate of $10.00 per hour.

Youth Conference for Jobs, Internships, Educational and Volunteer Opportunities

Brooklyn Community Board 14 is pleased to announce that their Fifth Annual Youth Conference will take place on May 2, 2012. All teenagers, aged 12-19, are invited to attend this great event to find out about jobs, internships, educational and volunteer opportunities, as well as additional services offered to young people in our community by various government agencies, non-profit organizations and local businesses.
